May 2019 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

We are excited to announce that we have recently purchased tickets to China for the Goforth China Tour! The Goforth China Tour is a survey/vision trip of China lead by my wife and I and will serve both as our own survey trip and a survey trip for a handful of students who are considering missions in China. The dates for the trip are locked in for Saturday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 10, of this year. While my wife and I are no strangers to South China, we plan to spend at least the first two years on the field in North China. This trip will allow us and a group of students to survey this part of the country and see how others on our Vision For China team are doing there. We are excited for this opportunity to briefly return to China and see the great need in the northern part of the country. Please pray for this trip! Pray that the Lord would use it in our lives to help us prepare to return to the field and pray that the Lord would also use it to raise up more laborers to GO!

We praise the Lord for a great month of deputation in April with eleven meetings, and we are excited about the eleven churches we are scheduled to be with in May. Lord willing, we will be able to present China in churches in MS, FL, GA, AL, TN, MD, PA, KY, and NC. Additionally, we will spend a five days in the middle of the month in NC for Vision Baptist Missions’ yearly orientation. This will be our third year to attend and we are looking forward to this time of encouragement, preaching, and training. Please continue to pray for us as we travel and present China. Pray that the Lord would use us to be a blessing to the churches we present in and that He would bless us with partners in the mission.

April 2019 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

March was a very exciting month for us as we spent the majority of the month away from our home in GA. We started out the month with meetings in NC and VA and then immediately headed westward to meetings in MS and TX for a few weeks before return to GA for the last week. We had meetings in fifteen meetings in five states and are praising the Lord for new partners along the way. It is exciting to see how the Lord is working to give us partners in the mission and help us get back to China!

April is off to a great start with a total of twelve meetings that are due to take us to AR, LA, GA, NC, SC, KY, TX, MS, and AL. We are thankful for all the doors the Lord opens to preach and present our burden for China and praise Him for those churches that have partnered with us to reach Chinese people with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray that the Lord would continue to raise our support and speed us along to return to China!

The month of April is always exciting for me and Anny Grace as it brings our wedding anniversary. I thank  the Lord for four years of marriage and the privilege to call her my wife. She is a tremendous blessing, encouragement, and partner in ministry. I am blessed beyond measure and look forward to many more years of life together. God is so good!

March 2019 Prayer Letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

God blessed us with a great month in February. We were in twelve churches in GA, FL, NC, and TN. The Lord was faithful to provide us with new support and new partnering churches, which of course means we are getting closer to getting back to China. Thank you for your continued prayers as we press on on the deputation trail!

We are very excited as we look ahead to the month of March. We have twelve meetings scheduled this month in NC, VA, MS, TX, and GA – with the majority of the month spent in MS and TX. Our last time through these states was very fruitful for us with new support and new partners, and we are praying for another fruitful trip in these states. Would you join us in praying for new partnering churches in March?

Looking beyond March and into April, the Chinese calendar brings a festival called “Tomb Sweeping Festival” on Friday, April 5th. The yearly holiday is a day for China’s billions to live out their Confucian beliefs concerning familial piety (devotion to family, particularly elders) by paying their respects at the tombs of their deceased parents and grandparents. All of this is done year after year in the Spring and is a source of fear and hopelessness for many Chinese. Most of them have never heard of the other tomb. That tomb is the cause of much celebration and is also widely celebrated each Spring. Their tombs are hopeless and occupied, but that tomb is empty and points us to eternal life! Many of them have never heard of the empty tomb of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into this world to die for sinners. To die so that everyone – even Chinese people – can have life and hope and joy.  Will you pray for China during this season? Will you pray that many preachers would be sent to them so that they can hear the name of Jesus, believe upon His name, call upon His name, and be saved?
