As of the morning that I’m writing this prayer letter, I (Austin) have successfully submitted my visa application for Taiwan! Praise the Lord! Thank you all for praying that Taiwan would lift coronavirus-related travel restrictions. A couple of weeks ago, the restrictions were lifted and just this morning I went to the visa office in Atlanta to submit the final piece of my documentation. According to the agent, I should have a visa in-hand in 45 days. Once I receive my visa, I will need to apply to have it converted to an “Alien Residence Card” and then use that to begin applying for Anny’s and Abe’s visas. Please continue to pray that this process would go smoothly! We are excited to be one step closer to serving in Taiwan for a couple of years with the Tolson family before heading to mainland China.
Over the course of the last month, the Lord has provided many teaching and preaching opportunities. In addition to teaching a class at the Our Generation Training Center and teaching a couple of weeks of Sunday School at our home church, I was also privileged to travel to Michigan for a few days to join over twenty youth on a “Global Perspective Trip” to Chicago. We took a train into Chicago from Michigan and were able to spend a half day in Chinatown exploring, passing out gospel tracts, and allowing the team to experience Chinese culture all while seeing the need for gospel preachers surrendered to go to the Chinese. I was blessed with two opportunities to preach and challenge them to surrender their lives to making Jesus famous in China. I am very grateful to one of our partnering churches — Immanuel Baptist Church — for inviting me to have a part in this trip. Please continue to pray that the Lord would raise up an army of preachers to enter China with the gospel!
