Weekly Devotion: Deuteronomy 6:21-23

“Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.”

The Lord brought Israel out of bondage to sin that He might bring them into the land of promise. He brought them out so that He might bring them in.

Lord, thank You that You have in a similar way brought me out to bring me in. I, too, was in bondage. I was a slave of sin. But You brought me out! You brought me out so that You might bring me in! You have brought me into Christ! I am now in Christ! He is now my Master, my Captain, my King. I am no longer in sin, but in Him! Thank You, Lord! Amen.
