Back around 200 AD the Chinese invented woodblock printing which was to become widespread throughout Asia by the 800s. Woodblock printing was more than sufficient to print the characters of the Chinese language.
Later on they also invented moveable type printing, though woodblock printing still remained the standard in China until about the 19th century.
All of this led the them having a vast print culture before other civilizations. The invention of printing completely revolutionized communication not just in China, but throughout the world for centuries.
Thanks to Chinese ingenuity we have books, newspapers, periodicals, and the primary means by which ideas spread for well over a millennium.
So the next time you read a book or print a document, please remember to pray for China.
