“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give goods things to them that ask him?”
If a son asks his father for bread or a fish, what father would give his son a stone or a serpent instead? If we know how to give good gifts to our children, then God certainly is even better at giving good things to His children when they ask Him.
Lord, thank You for allowing me to call You Father. Thank You for being a good Father that wants to give good gifts to me. Help me to discern what good things I need, so that I can ask You. Thank You for not giving me things that will hurt me, but instead will draw me closer to You. I love You, Lord!
