Weekly Devotion: Genesis 12:2-3

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
No sooner than having confused the languages of humanity in Genesis 11, making them divide into differing nations across the face of the earth, did God embark on a plan to bless those various families. He chose to do so through Abram (12:1). The Lord promises to make him a great nation through whom He will bless all families of the earth.
Lord, thank You for not giving up on humanity despite our sin and disobedience. Thank You for Your love and mercy toward us. Thank You for choosing to bless us all through Abram and ultimately His descendant Jesus Christ. Thank You for saving me through Him, Lord!
