“Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.”
The resurrection of Christ was preached by many of the hundreds that witnessed the resurrected Christ (15:4-11), yet some in the church at Corinth said there is no resurrection of the dead. If Christ is not risen, then there is no resurrection of the dead and our faith is in vain. But, He is risen from the dead! He is become the firstfruits of them that slept (15:20).
Lord, thank You that Christ is risen from the dead! Thank You for His resurrection! My faith is not in vain. I will one day be able to spend eternity in His presence, and I can be confident of it because He Himself has already been raised! Praise the Lord!
